Last Tuesday, 23rd April, I had the enlightening opportunity to visit the Commercial Vehicle Show at the The NEC, Birmingham with Mike Darvill.

The event was an eye-opening experience, showcasing the rapidly evolving landscape of commercial transportation, particularly in the electrification of vehicles.

Traditional automotive giants like Ford Motor Company, Renault Group, Iveco Group, and Renault Trucks displayed their latest innovations.

Ford UK introduced their all-new Transit Courier and Transit Custom Van, highlighting advancements in utility and efficiency. I loved the new Transit Nugget CamperVan!

Renault Vans PRO+ UK's display included the NEW RENAULT MASTER E-TECH and the Trafic Van E-TECH, underscoring their commitment to sustainable solutions.

IVECO impressed attendees with their eDaily EV, the record-holding S-eWay BEV and FCEV, and the S-Way running on natural gas, demonstrating their leadership in alternative fuel technologies.

Renault Trucks UK proudly presented their comprehensive E-Tech range and their innovative Vertellus commercial vehicle contract hire with a difference solution.

The event also spotlighted pioneering new brands making significant strides in this sector.

B–ON captured our attention with its practical approach to electrification, featuring 'the smart dispenser', Electrical Energy Storage solutions, and announcing a new joint venture with 奇瑞汽车 Chery Automobile Co.,Ltd. poised to impact Europe and North America.

Another standout was the American company Canoo, which introduced the LDV190, designed specifically for high-profile clients like the United States Postal Service Service and Walmart, alongside their innovative pickup truck currently being trialed by the US Army.

Not to be overlooked were the micro commercial vehicles designed for last-mile deliveries, which are crucial in urban settings.

Bradshaw Electric Vehicles presented their compact Groupil G2 and G4 models, ideal for navigating narrow city streets.

JLC EV's Limited introduced The City 1 and the Nextem e-Mobility Limited Orca Van, both designed to meet the urban demand for swift and sustainable delivery solutions.

Innovation Automotive brought along their tried and tested DFSK Motors EC35 plus news of an exciting new range coming soon!

The CV Show was not just an exhibition of current achievements in vehicle electrification but a glimpse into the future of commercial transportation.

It's an exhilarating time for businesses eager to innovate their mobility solutions and adopt more environmentally friendly ways of delivering to customers. The opportunities for brands committed to sustainability are vast and promising, signalling a dynamic shift towards a greener future in commercial logistics. We are excited to be involved!
