Local: A story of hope.

LOCAL: A STORY OF HOPE
Is your business thinking global but acting local yet? If not, why not? It’s an approach that will give you a significant advantage and could do your customers and the planet a lot of good at the same time.

It doesn’t mean going back to the dark ages. It’s certainly not anti-business. But it is a blend of the best of what we’ve learned over the last 100+ years. And it’s definitely more sustainable.

Last week we talked about the value of empowering businesses to use global thinking, whilst applying their local knowledge and expertise to put customers and communities at heart of their brands.

It’s a growing movement called #localism and when truly embraced it’s an approach that can make your brand more relevant, engaging, and authentic. The fact that #google seem to like it is endorsement enough. But there’s so much more to it than just improved sales.

It’s explained rather well by Local Futures an international non-profit organization dedicated to renewing ecological and social wellbeing by strengthening communities and local economies worldwide.

Last week they launched LOCAL: A STORY OF HOPE. A short film made in collaboration with filmmaker Damon Gameau, it offers us a different future, away from the current global system – one in which communities and ecosystems are flourishing, and people are more connected.

If you can spare 7 minutes to watch the video, let us know what you think? Can the system be rebalanced to be fairer to National, Regional and Local Businesses as well as the planet?
