Everything Electric!

Last Thursday found me wandering the bustling halls of ExCeL London, lost in the buzz of the FullyCharged.SHOW & Everything Electric London event.

It wasn't just an ordinary day; it was a dive into a world brimming with the potential of electric power, a peek into a future where every aspect of our lives could be transformed by the touch of innovation.

Despite being a school day, the event was comfortably busy, drawing in a crowd as diverse as the innovations on display. There were industry insiders full of insights, tech enthusiasts with their boundless curiosity, green warriors of course, but also lots, and lots of ‘just' ordinary people and their families.

I was quite surprised at the number of older consumers who seemed extremely engaged, and excited by the whole idea of going electric! There would appear to be plenty of grey pounds available.

It's encouraging that it doesn’t matter what age or demographic you belong to, we all share a common vision for a sustainable future powered by electricity.

It’s hard to ignore the sheer variety of electric vehicles (EVs) available today.

A real feast for the eyes – the very latest from mainstream brands like Volvo Cars, Ford Motor Company, GWM ORA UK, BYD EUROPE, OMODA UK, Fisker, Hyundai Motor Company (현대자동차), Kia Worldwide, MG Motor Europe, smart Europe GmbH, Tesla, Mercedes-Benz AG, and some cool options from Microlino, CHARGE CARS and Lunaz, all eco-friendly without compromising on speed or style. Then there were hi-tec electric bikes and e-scooters offering alternative transport and leisure options and even commercial vehicles that hinted at a cleaner, quieter city life from IVECO, HELIXX, MORRIS COMMERCIAL LTD, Volta Trucks. Each vehicle was a promise of a greener tomorrow.

But "Everything Electric London" wasn't just about what drives on our roads. It was a broader conversation about the role of electricity in shaping our future cities, economies, and environment.

Through panels that sparked engaging discussions and workshops that shared knowledge, the event tackled everything from the necessity of renewable energy to the intricacies of modernising our grids for the better. Innovation was at the heart of it all.

I was particularly drawn to the stories of startups like HELIXX dreaming big and established giants like BYD innovating for a new era. Solutions that once seemed futuristic, like Duracell Energy - a Duracell Authorised Licensee home energy storage systems or groundbreaking advances in battery technology, were now tangible, ready to make our lives better.

Walking out as the event wound down, the overwhelming feeling wasn't just one of having attended another industry expo. It was a deeper sense of inspiration, a conviction that the electric future is not only inevitable but also exciting.

"Everything Electric London" wasn't merely showcasing technology; it was inviting us all to be part of a brighter, cleaner world. And that's a journey We Are Acuity are thrilled to be on.
