Marketing Podcast, this time on #Retail. I’m delighted to announce it’s available today on Apple, Spotify and Google!
The retail sector is a hot topic right now, with the future of the High Street widely debated. If you are interested in how bricks & mortar retail brands can engage with local audiences in a challenging climate, then this is the one for you. Tune in to hear the conversation.
I’m joined ‘talking local’ by Tim Fairs, good friend of We Are Acuity and highly accomplished Retail Marketing / eCommerce Director with 25 years' of retail under his belt.
Also joining is Chris Lidington, CACI Associate Partner of Retail & FMCG and an experienced consultant with a demonstrated history of working with retailers to build successful estate strategies both on and offline.
What a team!
Tim’s experience in retail covers the breadth of the sector with significant roles at Comet, Sainsbury's, Blockbuster, Virgin, Currys plc, Clintons (AG Retail) & McColl's Retail Group. The world has changed significantly, but for Tim the critical role stores play in the customer’s shopping journey hasn't. He feels this is attributed to the social value of a physical store and the satisfaction of touching / trying things on surrounded by the curated sounds & smells of a well-designed retail space.
Chris’s retail experience comes from a data perspective. He's often asked ‘how do we engage with communities at a local level using both physical and digital channels’. Fortunately for Chris, he works at the right place. You see CACI Ltd are a data technology consultancy, and their focus these days is very much around understanding customers. Who they are, where they are and how to reach them, as well as what you should be talking to them about and what you should have in your stores. These valuable insights give Chris an unprecedented perspective on local retail.
Over 35 minutes we discuss the challenges of being a multi-location retail brand today. We discuss how to deliver brand value consistently and effectively across a network of local stores and how to leverage the advantages that come from bricks and mortar.
We discuss how you can:
· Effectively maintain brand consistency across ALL retail touch points
· Get your stores pulling together as part of ‘ONE’ marketing team.
· Make it easier for your stores to do MORE effective local marketing.
If you are working with a global, national or ambitious new retail brand, whether in a Sales, Marketing, Brand or Procurement capacity, and are struggling across any of these areas, you’ll want to hear what we have to say. Not only will you discover how common these challenges are, you’ll gain some great ideas on how to tackle them.
