The importance of auditing your online presence.

Digital audits are important for your brand.

As a business, your online digital presence is critical to your success. It's the first impression many potential customers will have of your brand, and it can make or break their decision to do business with you, buy from you or even work for you! That's why it's essential to regularly audit your digital presence to ensure it's working for you, not against you.

Auditing your brand’s digital presence nationally or at local level amongst your local partners in the network can help you identify areas that need improvement and create a plan to address them. Here are some key areas to consider:

1.    Website: Your website is the online shop front of your business, and therefore it's important to ensure it's user-friendly, mobile-friendly, and optimized for search engines. The customer journey needs to be easy to navigate to ensure you’re optimising all opportunities for conversion.

2.    Social Media: The multitude of social media platforms out there provide a great way to connect with customers and promote your brand, but it's important to ensure your profiles are complete and up-to-date and that you're engaging with your followers regularly. Remember, it’s better to do one or two platforms well, rather than spread yourself too thin and not give each platform the time they deserve. Each platform has unique benefits, whether you want to share content, build your leads or find certain customers, so be sure to work out the best platform for your businesses’ needs first. Paid social media ads are also a fantastic way to reach new customers – sharing details of your products and services to an in-market audience.

3.    Online Reviews: Online reviews can have a huge impact on your reputation and the way customers perceive your business. It's important to monitor them and respond to any positive, or more importantly negative feedback in a timely and professional manner. A negative review doesn’t need to be seen as detrimental, but more gives you the opportunity to show future customers how you respond to feedback.

4.    Local Listings: With bricks-and-mortar locations, it's vitally important to ensure your business is listed accurately on local directories like Google My Business and Yelp. Without this, how can your potential customers find you!

5.    Analytics: Regularly monitoring your website and social media analytics can provide insights into what's working and what's not, so you can adjust your strategy accordingly. Remember data is King!
