Women and EV's

Women and EV's

I previously shared a LinkedIn post addressing the underrepresentation of women in the automotive industry, emphasising the need for increased female presence.

Building on that discussion, a parallel issue has surfaced within the electric vehicle (EV) space. A report published by AutoTrader in May 2023, supported by research from Hive at British Gas sheds light on the significant obstacles obstructing women from fully participating in the electrification of cars. This report highlights the urgency for broader promotion of EVs in female-centric spaces and advocates for a more robust utilisation of social proofing to enhance women's engagement with the industry.

In a positive stride towards recognising the contributions of women in the EV sector, The EV Summit 2024 is proud to present the "Top Women in EV" initiative, in collaboration with AutoTrader. This endeavour aims to spotlight and celebrate the achievements of women within the EV industry, acknowledging their vital roles in driving progress and innovation.

I think that EV's are the future and something we will all have to get onboard with. My favourite electric car is a Tesla and definitely a car I would consider buying. I like the fact it is futuristic, modern with a clean look and has many cool features. I personally find Kim Royds MBA CMgr inspiring, an EV specialist and Director at Net Zero Ventures for British Gas. I particularly like her goals to reduce carbon footprints and implement EV solutions and sustainable practices for a net zero future.

Kim is actively helping the UK save increasing amounts of carbon and cost through EV charging by ensuring British Gas partners with the right organisations to drive change and launch products such as Hive EV SmartCharge.

Let's appreciate and shine light on the exceptional women shaping the future of electric vehicles!
