Uncovering the opportunity: multi-site education.

Our workshop at ILG

We’ve just kicked off an exciting new project with Inspired Learning Group (ILG) and I’m loving the energy around it already.

ILG is a growing group of 30+ nurseries and schools across the UK, scaling quickly with some genuinely enviable names in their portfolio.

The first step was the We Are Acuity team rolling our sleeves up together in a workshop last week.

This was not a “talk about brand” session, but one that got to the reality of delivery: when you’ve got multiple locations, multiple leaders and multiple priorities, how do you stay consistent and effective across a group without losing your soul?

And how do you keep precious local personality without drifting into twenty different versions of the same story?

Education isn’t unique in this.

You see the same pattern in any organisation with a distributed network, whether that’s a group structure, a multi-site operator, or a franchised model.

The moment you scale across geography, good intent can quickly turn into duplication, delays and “everyone doing their own thing”, not because people don’t care, but because they’re all super busy and trying to make things work locally.

The smart ones don’t ignore it. They call it out and fix it properly.

That’s what stood out with ILG.

Like all smart businesses, they recognise both the challenge and the opportunity.

There’s a real appetite to put the right structure in place - not to stifle local identity, but to empower teams to market with more confidence, more consistency, and more impact, while making ILG’s enviable brands stronger and more visible.

Big thanks to Adam Margolin, Kalust Manukyan MCIM and all the ILG team for really engaging in the session with Graeme Airey, Kate Goodman CIIC and me - clear thinking, good pace, and the sort of practical mindset that makes projects like this actually land.

More soon, but it already feels like a strong start to a significant piece of work for the group. Watch this space.
